Toddler Program

Our Toddler Program is specifically designed for for children between one and two years of age. In both instances, developmentally-appropriate activities and environments provide safe ways for your little one to explore the growing world around them.

Building Blocks is dedicated not only to caring for your child, but also educating them in a way that encourages social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth. Our program features daily age-appropriate activities that foster a sense of independence, confidence, and self-esteem as well as boosting social skills. Peer play, emotional expression, and conflict resolution are all
examples of social behaviors encouraged at this age. In addition, our teachers actively challenge and support large motor development through their daily lesson plans.

Cognitive Development

A developmentally crucial age, toddlers begin to explore and identify colors, shapes, letters, and sounds in our program. We cover a broad range of subjects including:

    •     Math

We begin counting, identifying differences in amounts (i.e. more, less, empty, full), and matching and sorting games.

    •     Language
We explore language and vocabulary skills by fostering conversation, identification, and letter shapes.

    •     Science

We begin nurturing analytical skills and other scientific concepts through simple problem solving, puzzles, and other projects.

Our toddler program encourages creativity through the use of:

     •     Sensory exploration through various items                  such as clay, textured materials and
toys, and sand and water tables

     •      Arts and Craft projects

     •      Dramatic play

     •     Music and rhythmic exposure through                          songs, games and instruments
